As Marca reports, the story by Argentine journalist Hernan Casciari was broadcast on radio where Messi alongside his wife Antonella Roccuzzo, sent a voice note to the show presenter Andy Kusnetzoff confessing how the story had taken them through a whirlwind of emotions.

The story which is called the Lionel Suitcase highlights Messi's career path during his days at Barcelona and the time he quit international football in 2016.

Copa America heartbreaks

Messi missed a penalty in the Copa America final against Chile and hung up his boots in disappointment. He was however encouraged to renege on his decision with support streaming in from all over the country.

Among the messages of support was a letter from a then 15-year-old Enzo Fernandez. Six years later, Fernandez was on the podium with Messi to receive the young player of Qatar 2022 before hoisting the world cup trophy a few minutes later.

Journalist melts Messi's heart

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Lionel Messi was lost for words when an Argentine reporter gave him a passionate speech in Qatar.

Messi had just led Argentina to the World Cup finals with an amazing performance against Croatia at the Lusail Stadium when he walked in for a post-match interview.

One Argentine reporter Sofia Maria Martinez Mateos took time to remind Messi that whatever happens on Sunday, he will still remain a legend of the game. Messi let out a sheepish smile as Sofia went through with her speech.
