Cristiano Ronaldo's sister, Katia Aveiro, has branded the 2022 FIFA World Cup as “the worst ever” after Argentina defeated France in the final.

Argentina clinched the 2022 FIFA World Cup after they defeated France 4-2 on penalties, following a completely ludicrous 120 minutes of football.

La Albiceleste's triumph over Les Bleus ended a 36-year drought for the South American country, who last won the ultimate prize in 1986 thanks to Diego Maradona.

The final is widely considered the greatest World Cup final of all time due to the high level of drama involved.

France scored two goals in one minute to take the game to extra-time, Kylian Mbappe netted a hattrick, three penalties being awarded, and the game eventually being decided on a penalty shootout.

Ronaldo's sister, Katia Aveiro, was however not impressed with the tournament even though she enjoyed the pulsating final.

"The worst World Cup of all time... that thankfully gave us a great final. What a match. Congratulations to Argentina," she wrote on Instagram, via Mirror Sports.

Katia Aveiro heaped praises on Mbappe after scoring three goals against Argentina.

She added: "This kid is unreal," she said of Mbappe. Such a brilliant future awaits you. Incredible."

Qatar World Cup the Highest scoring of all time

Meanwhile, The Qatar 2022 World Cup is arguably regarded as the best World Cup tournament ever played following the numerous records that have been broken in the competition.

The tournament which was eventually won by Argentina after they defeated defending champions France in the final via penalties, set the record for the most goals scored in a FIFA World Cup.

According to 90MIN, the tournament in Qatar recorded a stunning 172 goals scored in the 64 games played in the competition including 6 thrilling goals in the final.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Google search recorded its "highest ever traffic in 25 years" during FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and France, NDTV reports.

Google CEO, Sundar Pichai confirmed the company’s latest achievement in a tweet after he insinuated the entire world seems to be watching the World Cup final in Qatar.

Argentina defeated France 4-2 via penalties after both teams had played an entertaining 3-3 draw after extra-time to lift the country’s third World Cup title.
