  • Croatia pulled off a blockbuster upset to knock Brazil out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar
  • Doha's Education City Stadium witnessed yet another upset as the Blazers cruised to the semi-final
  • Elvis Krivokuca has expressed delight following the win, believing the World Cup trophy dream is now possible

A Croatian football fan, Elvis Krivokuca, was stunned following the Blazers’ famous victory over tournament favourites Brazil in the quarter-final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The South American side unleashed a flurry of attacks against the 2018 runners-up, but somehow they could not find the back of the net as it ended 0-0 in regulation time.

However, the Samba Boys were coasting to victory following Neymar’s strike in the first half of stoppage time, but Bruno Petkovic struck with just three minutes left on the clock to force the game into a penalty shootout.

In a chat with Sports Brief after the game, Elvis Krivokuca who has always flaunted the colours of his home country Croatia said he was yet to come to terms with the win.

He said:

“I was crying while celebrating. I didn’t believe we would win this match especially after Neymar had scored that goal.
“This is unbelievable. Our players have put up the Croatian spirit and our World Cup dreams remain alive. I am so happy about this victory.”

Neyma breaks down in tears

Meanwhile, Neymar experienced another World Cup heartbreak in the cruellest way possible as Brazil exited the global stage in the quarter-finals for the second time in a row.

Brazil were the tournament favourite at this stage of the competition, despite the presence of other heavyweights like England, France and Argentina.

Neymar could not hold back his tears after the realization that his World Cup dream was quashed for another four years.

Fans hail goalkeeper Livakovic

Sports Brief earlier reported that Dominik Livakovic produced yet another goalkeeping masterclass as Croatia progressed to the semifinals at the expense of Brazil.

The goalie literally carried the 2018 World Cup finalists to the quarterfinals after making three saves during penalty shootouts in their last 16 tie against Japan.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper proved pivotal once more as Croatia stunned Brazil to reach back-to-back World Cup semifinals.
