  • His return will boost the morale in Brazil's camp ahead of their knockout game against South Korea on Monday

Brazil talisman Neymar has declared himself fighting fit ahead of his side's round of 16 clash against South Korea.

Neymar has been on the sidelines nursing an ankle injury he picked up in Brazil's penultimate group game against Serbia.

In his absence, the five-time world champions suffered an unexpected defeat at the hands of Cameroon, their first loss in the group stages of the World Cup since 1998.

There were even growing concerns about the severity of the injury which could rule him out of the World Cup entirely, Evening Standard reports. However, the Paris Saint-Germain superstar has allayed such fears.

He took to social media to announce his readiness for Brazil's next assignment against Group H runners-up South Korea on Monday, December 5.

"I feel good, I knew that I would now,": the 30-year-old forward captioned his tweet which was accompanied by photos of him in good spirits at training.

Neymar fumes at Brazil teammates

Neymar was furious following Brazil's shock defeat to Cameroon in their final group game on Friday, December 2.

Brazil suffered an unlikely defeat at the hands of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon largely due to a much-changed starting lineup in conjunction with the absence of the PSG superstar.

Watching the game from the stands, Neymar was infuriated by Brazil's lack of proficiency in front of goal which proved costly as Vincent Abounbakar struck in stoppage time to end Brazil's unbeaten run at the World Cup group stages.

Del Piero willing to help Neymar

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that everyone wants to see Neymar back on the pitch for Brazil at the World Cup, but none more so than Alessandro De Piero.

The legendary Italian midfielder is even willing to part with his ankle if it means that Neymar will feature again in the tournament.

As reported by Sportskeeda, the former Juventus star said he would offer Neymar his ankle in a bid to see him play.
