Neymar was furious following Brazil's shock defeat to Cameroon in their final group game on Friday, December 2.

Brazil suffered an unlikely defeat at the hands of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon largely due to a much-changed starting lineup in conjunction with the absence of the PSG superstar.

Watching the game from the stands, Neymar was infuriated by Brazil's lack of proficiency in front of goal which proved costly as Vincent Abounbakar struck in stoppage time to end Brazil's unbeaten run at the World Cup group stages.

Neymar reacted angrily to one of the spurned opportunities by striking his cap to the floor amid yelling as the 30-year-old visibly registered his frustration at his teammates.

Meanwhile, Neymar is recuperating from an ankle injury he sustained during Brazil's penultimate group game against Serbia, Evening Standard reports.

Cameroon shock Brazil

Vincent Aboubakar headed in a stoppage-time winner and was then sent off as Cameroon claimed a memorable 1-0 victory over favourites Brazil at the World Cup on Friday, but still failed to go through to the last 16.

Aboubakar, who had come in to captain Rigobert Song's team, connected with a cross from substitute Jerome Ngom Mbekeli to break the deadlock in the 92nd minute at Doha's Lusail Stadium.

He was booked for removing his shirt in the wild celebrations that followed and, having already been cautioned, had to leave his teammates to see out the remainder of the game.

Brazil sweat on Neymar's fitness

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Neymar's World Cup campaign could reportedly be over, as there are growing fears that the Brazil talisman is losing his battle with injury.

The 30-year-old PSG winger sustained an ankle injury in Brazil's first game in the group stage against Serbia. A photo of his swollen ankle was spotted online, causing panic among Brazil fans.

The Brazil talisman will miss his nation's last group game against Cameroon, a game which they will look to win to seal the top spot in Group G.
