Sadio Mane has been performing quietly in his first season in the Saudi Pro League.

The Senegal star left Liverpool in 2022 to join Bayern Munich, a move which didn't work out for the two-time African Footballer of the Year.

He plays alongside one of the greatest football players in Saudi Arabia, and his numbers are not that bad.

The 32-year-old left Liverpool in the summer of 2022 after six hugely successful seasons at the Merseyside side.

He was sold to German giants, Bayern Munich, and struggled to settle at the club, resulting in a surprise transfer to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo has taken the spotlight at the club, and rightly so. He is the leading scorer with 32 goals, while Mane has 13. How has the Senegal star performed since his Liverpool departure?

Sadio Mane at Bayern Munich

After six successful seasons at Liverpool, Mane signed a three-year deal with Bayern. Things didn't go well for Mane in Germany.

After punching his teammate, Leroy Sane, after their loss to Manchester City in the Champions League, Mane's influence in the team waned, and it appeared there was no way back for the 2021 AFCON winner.

He started well at the club, but an injury sidelined him during the 2022 World Cup. By the time he left the club, he had scored 12 goals in 38 matches and won the Bundesliga and the German Supercup.

The numbers show Mane's output had dropped compared to his last season at Liverpool, where he registered 23 goals and five assists.

Bayern had a turbulent 2022/23 season despite winning the league for the 11th time in a row. The Senegal legend was probably a victim of circumstance.

Mane's numbers at Al-Nassr so far

In August 2023, Mane eventually left Bayern to join Ronaldo at Al-Nassr in a deal worth £24 million, according to Sky Sports. He reportedly earns a staggering £650,000 a week.

The Senegal forward joined a star-studded team spearheaded by the Portugues veteran, backed up by the likes of Otavio and Aymeric Laporte.

This season, he has registered 19 goals and 11 assists in 41 matches. 13 of his goals have come in the league. Only Ronaldo and Anderson Talisca have scored more than him.

Despite those good numbers, his side might miss out on the league title to Al-Hilal. Al-Nassr have accrued 74 points in the SPL while the log leaders have 83 with a game in hand.

Therefore, Mane has scored 31 goals since leaving Liverpool, per Transfermarkt. In his last two seasons at Liverpool, he scored 39. In comparison, Mohamed Salah has scored 54 in the previous two seasons.

Mane scores brilliant goal

Sports Brief also reported on Mane scoring a superb goal for Al-Nassr in their emphatic 6-0 win over Odion Ighalo's Al-Wehda.

Ronaldo stole the show in the match as he bagged yet another hat-trick to extend his lead in the SPL goal-scoring standings.
