Former Arsenal and England winger Theo Walcott has said although Kylian Mbappe is a phenomenal player, there's one England player who can stop the PSG superstar.

Mbappe is the joint-top scorer in the ongoing 2022 World Cup, and his performances have already garnered worldwide praise. Some have even declared that the French star is the best player in the world.

England and France are on a collision course. They will meet in the quarterfinals of the World Cup if both countries progress from their upcoming last-16 matches against Senegal and Australia, respectively.

With his three goals and an assist, Mbappe has already shown what he's like in Qatar. In France's opening two games, the PSG forward was unplayable, according to Sky Sports.

If England and France meet, the Three Lions definitely have the players that can slow the 23-year-old down.

Mbappe vs Walker

The Southampton winger said Kyle Walker can stop Mbappe. he added that Walker's physicality will make things harder for the French magician.

On his day, Walcott was probably the fastest players in the Premier League and played against Walker several times. Therefore, he knows a thing or two about facing Walker.

“I would love to see it. I really would. I feel like Mbappe would struggle against his [Walker’s] physicality if I’m honest."

Speaking on Talksport, he added that Walker's experience in the Premier League would come in handy against Mbappe.

“He plays in the French league, which is a different kettle of fish to the Premier League, and Walker has so much experience in the Champions League."

The Manchester City right-back returned from injury during England's 3-0 win over Wales. Several wingers have named Walker as the toughest right-back they've faced, and the battle between him and Mbappe should be exciting.

Rashford on Mbappe's level?

Sports Brief earlier reported on former France star Louis Saha claiming that Marcus Rashford is on the same level as Mbappe.

Rashford appears to have revived his career under Erik ten Hag, scoring eight goals in 19 games across all competitions before the World Cup.

Rashford and Mbappe have scored three goals each at the World Cup. Mbappe is the leading scorer in the French Ligue 1. Rashford is United's top scorer this season, and his form in Qatar shows he's a player on form.

"I love Harry Kane, but Rashford is just a humongous talent and I love to see him at this level. Kane is the best player, but Rashford is my favourite player in the England squad because of his style, and I really enjoy watching him play."
