Cristiano Ronaldo has foregone a staggering amount in wages after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract at Manchester United.
There was no way back for the Portuguese superstar after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan where he called out the club and several of its stakeholders.
Now, according to Daily Mail, Ronaldo is set to forego a massive £16million that he would have received in wages if he had stayed at United until the end of his contract.
In the same report, it is alleged that Ronaldo will not receive any kind of compensation from Manchester United.

He only had seven months remaining on his contract, but after the termination, it means Ronaldo can join any other club in a free transfer.
The 37-year-old leaves Manchester United having scored 145 goals in 346 appearances across two spells with the club.
No love lost
There seems to be no love lost between Ronaldo and Manchester United as he spoke to media on Monday, November 21 where he strongly reiterated, he would speak however and whenever he wanted.
Furthermore, the announcement of the termination of his deal at Old Trafford came almost simultaneously to an announcement that he had agreed a mega deal with a new line of watches which features his famous goal against Manchester United.

"Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early," His statement read in part.
