Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo appeared in an explosive interview with veteran journalist Piers Morgan, and the revelations shook the football world.

There were many hot topics that he touched on, including how Red Devils icon Sir Alex Ferguson blocked him from joining crosstown rivals Manchester City last year.

The 37-year-old has hit the headlines for the wrong reasons this season amid dreadful form in front of goal. In the summer, he expressed his desire to leave the club after just one season since his return.

On October 19th against Tottenham Hotspur, he refused to come on as a substitute and subsequently stormed the pitch before the match ended, according to the Mirror.

United manager Erik ten Hag then banished him from the first team, forcing him to train alone as punishment for his behaviour, according to the Athletic.

Ferguson stopped Ronaldo to City

In the interview, the Portuguese dropped bombshell after bombshell. He also described how his former boss forced a change of heart after reports indicated he was close to joining Manchester City.

According to an exclusive by the Sun, Ronaldo said his heart made the decision for him.

"I followed my heart. “He said to me, ‘It’s impossible for you to come to Manchester City’, and I said, ‘OK, Boss."

Ronaldo, who will captain the Portugal national team at the World Cup, finished as the top scorer with 24 goals last season. The club's failure to qualify for the Champions League saw him expressing the desire to exit.

He has scored just three goals this term and given the explosive nature of the interview, he is expected to leave soon.

Ronaldo rips into Rooney

Sports Brief earlier reported on Ronaldo launching a scathing attack on Wayne Rooney, who blasted his behaviour earlier this week.

Ronaldo said that his former teammate has no moral standing to criticise him.

He aimed several digs at his former teammate, something that surprised many.
