Diego Simeone were spectacularly knocked out of Europe this week, and Joao Felix was pictured at the bench, frustrated by the result.

Fans and pundits have said Diego Simeone has failed to get the best out of the youngster, and that could give him reason to exit the club he joined for a staggering 113 million, according to BBC.

Atletico willing to sell in January

According to the Sun, the 2021 La Liga champions are willing to cash in on their youngster to compensate for their elimination from the Champions League, which will have significant financial implications.

The Portuguese international is reported to have a sour relationship with Simeone because of getting less playing time.

The Spanish side reportedly said Felix is untouchable after the Red Devils approached them in the summer.

Felix signed a seven-year deal with the club when he signed in the summer, a contract which will be hard to move.

The forward is the second-most expensive teenager in world football. Kylian Mbappe remains the most expensive teenager after Paris St-Germain paid 180m euros to Monaco in 2018.

Felix frustrated at Atletico

Sports Brief earlier reported on Felix being frustrated with limited playing time at the club despite being lauded as one of the best young players in world football.

Diego Simeone defended his decision not to play Félix in the Champions League game against Club Brugge a few weeks ago.

Félix threw his training bib to the ground in frustration after discovering that he wouldn't be playing.
