Valverde picked up a knock after a bit of a nasty tackle during the game against Sevilla and had to be substituted.

The club aren’t stressing too much about the Uruguayan’s injury and expects him to be back in action this weekend. Modrić is a different story, though.

Football Espana reported that Modrić was a part of the squad for the trip to Germany but was suddenly withdrawn. The club released a statement saying that the midfielder would no longer be part of the team and would not travel with the squad either.

No reason has been given for the Croatian’s sudden absence.
