Sadiq started playing football early in the streets of his home in Kaduna, Nigeria, before extending his interests to his local team, Kusa Boys. He played incredibly and joined the Future of Africa Football Academy and then the Football College Abuja. At FCA, he participated in the Kvarnerska Rivijera youth tournament, where he became the top scorer and helped his team emerge the winners.

He caught the attention of European teams and got signed by the Italian side, Spezia, where he played at the Youth setup. The 2014/15 season saw him become the Campionato Primavera top scorer with a whopping 26 goals in 24 appearances. Following his success at the reserved team, he joined Roma on a one-year deal. He was still in the reserved team, scoring eight goals in three Primavera appearances.

This performance elevated him to Serie A, where he made his debut in a 2-2 draw against Bologna. He scored his first goal when he came in as a substitute for Mohammed Salah in the 82nd minute. He performed incredibly and signed a four-year permanent deal in 2016. However, in 2017, he was loaned to Bologna, making only seven appearances for the team to the end of the season before heading to Torino, also on loan. This loan extended to the Dutch side NAC Breda where he scored five goals on twelve Eredivisie appearances. In 2018, he joined two clubs, the Rangers in July and Perugia later on, both on loan.

The 2019 season saw Sadiq join the Serbian side, Partizan, where he scored his first professional hat-trick in a 6-2 win against Javor Ivanjika. His ultimate breakthrough came in 2020 when he signed a permanent deal for the Spanish Segunda Division club, UD Almeria. He stayed for two seasons securing the team promotion to La Liga. He was their top scorer for two consecutive seasons before joining Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad where he is expected to stay to the 2027-28 season.

He made his debut in the team on 4th of September and recorded a goal helping his team come from behind to a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in their La Liga encounter.

In his International career, Sadiq was part of Nigeria's 18-man squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics. He also played at the U-23 level before being called up by the Super Eagles for the 2022 African Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin and Lesotho in 2021. He was part of the Super Eagles team for the African Cup of Nations Tournament where he scored a goal, but they never proceeded to the third round.
