Jonathan Mensah gave Ghanaian musician Kofi Kinaata a warm embrace after spotting him in the stands after a game between Columbus Crew and Atlanta United in the United States.

The Ghana defender, who is also the captain of Columbus Crew, featured for the Gold and Blacks as they picked a point against the former Major League Champions.

In a video posted on social media, Mensah beamed with joy as he sighted Kinaata in the stands, before walking to him to give him a hug.

Kofi Kinaata was in Ohio for the Ghana Music Awards US, where he was named Artiste of the Year. He seized the opportunity to meet his countryman after the show.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Mensah has spent the last five years of his career in the United States playing for Columbus Crew. He led the club to Major League Soccer victory in 2020.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Inspirational Ghanaian singer, Fameye, has been hanging out with Black Stars duo Jonathan Mensah and Yaw Yeboah in the United States.

The Ghana senior national team players ply their trade in Major League Soccer for Columbus Crew.

In photos posted on social media, the singer was welcomed by the players as they made him feel at home.
