While Sancho and Rashford stole the limelight with their vital goals, Ten Hag believes it was Bruno Fernandes and Raphael Varane who made the difference during the match.

Fernandes captained the team after Harry Maguire was dropped to the bench, with Varane making the first team alongside Lisandro Martinez in the heart of defence.

Speaking after the encounter, Ten Hag hailed the leadership of the duo on the pitch as his charges silenced the Reds.

"I think he took the responsibility, and I think he showed leadership with Rapha Varane on the pitch," the Dutchman told Sky Sports after the match.
"They make a huge difference, but that is what we have to bring but not just them two; we need more leaders," he added.

Bruno Fernandes thinks that Ronaldo still wants to leave Manchester United

At the same time, Sports Brief reported that Bruno Fernandes has suggested that Cristiano Ronaldo is still keen on leaving Manchester United this summer.

Ronaldo has widely been linked with an exit despite still having a year left on his current deal with the Red Devils.

It is believed that the 37-year-old has already made it clear to United about his desire to quit the Theatre of Dreams. Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, has been hunting for a new home for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, but there have been no interested suitors.
