Chelsea shortlist Raheem Sterling among top summer targets

Sterling was shortlisted as a top summer target out of the need to strengthen their attack line.

It is understood that Romelu Lukaku's return to Inter Milan on loan left Chelsea with no choice but to enter the market for new strikers.

Sterling is said to have held positive talks with Thomas Tuchel before he made a decision to move to West London.

The former Liverpool reportedly negotiated for a five-year contract worth more than his existing £300,000 a week.

His wages at Stamford Bridge will see him become the club's best-paid player, ahead of the likes of N'Golo Kante, Timo Werner, and Ben Chilwell.

Chelsea contact AC Milan over Rafael Leao transfer

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Chelsea are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing AC Milan striker Rafael Leao.

The Blues are keen to add the Portuguese forward to their ranks this summer as Thomas Tuchel looks to build a team that can challenge for titles.

Leao has enjoyed a significant rise to prominence in recent years, with last season being his most successful season with AC Milan.
