Manchester United have reportedly informed Cristiano Ronaldo that they do not intend to sell him this summer.

Ronaldo is said to have dropped a bombshell on United on his desire to leave the club during the ongoing transfer window.

According to The Sun, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner asked United chiefs to sanction his move away should they receive "acceptable" offers.

Ronaldo's decision to quit Old Trafford came at a time the Red Devils are undergoing a transition following the appointment of Erik ten Hag as the club's permanent boss.

Man United's stance on Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Old Trafford

The Mirror now claims that Man United chiefs are standing firm that the Portuguese talisman is going nowhere and is not for sale.

It is understood that the same has since been communicated to Ronaldo, with the Red Devils asking the 37-year-old to report for their pre-season next week.

Ten Hag is scheduled to lead his charges on a two-and-a-half-week tour of Thailand and Australia starting next Friday, and Ronaldo has been informed that he is expected to be in the travelling squad.

The Portugal international's desire to quit Old Trafford has been attributed to the club's failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Manchester United are finally closing in on their first transfer deal this summer after Tyrell Malacia jetted into Manchester.

The Red Devils are expected to complete the signing of the Netherlands international in the coming days,

Malacia is believed to have arrived in Manchester on Sunday afternoon, July 3, for the first phase of his medical.
