Morocco Set to Report Ghana to FIFA Over Age Cheating after Defeat to Black Maidens

The Moroccan female U17 national team is lodging a complaint to FIFA after their defeat to Ghana in the first leg of their World Cup qualifiers in Accra.

The North Africans lost 2-0 to Ghana on Friday ahead of their second leg in Rabat in a fortnight time.

According to dmsportofficiel, a Moroccan sports page on Twitter, Morocco has a case against Ghana for fielding over-age players.

"The FRMF has lodged a reservation against Ghana which would have fielded players whose age is higher than the category concerned (U-17). This match, which was played yesterday in Accra and which saw Morocco lose 2-0, is part of the last qualifying round for the CDM," wrote the Moroccan sports handle.

The Black Maidens are gunning for another appearances at the World Cup, and will be taking their two goal advantage to Morocco in two weeks time.

Ghana defeat Morocco in first leg of U17 Women's World Cup qualifiers

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana took a giant step in seeking World Cup qualification with their first-leg victory over Morocco at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday afternoon.

The Black Maidens, Ghana's female under 17 national team, defeated their Moroccan counterparts 2-0 to put themselves in pole position in qualifying for the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup.

A goal on either side of halftime was enough to secure coach Baba Nuhu's charges a two-nil lead in the final hurdle of the qualifiers.

Black Maidens beat Guinea in World Cup qualifiers

The Black Maidens of Ghana are on the verge of qualifying for the World Cup appearance after thumping Guinea in the first leg of the qualifiers.

The Ghana U-17 side recorded a 3-1 away victory in Conakry to put one foot at the Women’s U-17 World Cup.

Coach Baba Nuhu’s side will face their Guinean counterparts next two weekends for the reverse fixture in Cape Coast.
