Youngest Footballer to Play an Official Senior Level Game Revealed

A fourth division club in Liberia have caused a surprise by naming a young footballer in their line-up for a league game.

At the age of 11, Eric Godpower Marshall has probably become the youngest player to make his senior debut in terms of first-team minutes played.

He was in action for FC Gar'ou as they thumped Haifa FC 4-1 in match which had Dutch scouts reportedly watching the game.

In a video posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, the boy wonder was labelled the "world's youngest footballer" by his club.

Eric Godpower Marshall has now beat out the world's youngest footballer record, which was held by Bolivian youngster Mauricio Baldivieso.

Baldivieso made his official debut at the age of 12 for Bolivian side Club Aurora after he came on as substitute in a Division One game against La Paz on July 19, 2009.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Ghana international Jordan Ayew has expressed his joy at finally scoring again for Crystal Palace against Arsenal on Monday night.

The 30-year-old scored his second goal of the season in the 24th minute in their 3-0 triumph over the Gunners at Selhurst Park.

The Black Stars forward latched onto a superb 30-yard pass from Joachim Andersen to score with a composed finish from the edge of the area.
