There was little change in the heated race for the DStv Diski Challenge title between Stellenbosch FC and Orlando Pirates

As reported on SuperSport, A lot was expected in the junior Soweto Derby but little was delivered as both teams couldn't find the back of the net.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns got back to winning ways after beating Swallows 1-0 on Sunday morning at Dobsonville Stadium. Sundowns remain in seventh spot on the log with 38 points while the Birds, who lost their second match in a row, remain in position 14 in the log.

The Brazilians' Tshwane rivals SuperSport United edged Asekhukhune United in a five-goal thriller at Wits Stadium. The victory kept SuperSport's slim chances of winning the title alive. Thapelo Maseko scored a brace for Matsatsantsa and the other goal came from Caleb Acontuur in the dying minutes of the match. Sozabile Dlamini and Nkululeko Hlongo scored for Babina Noko.

In the KZN derby, Maritzburg United edged out AmaZulu 1-0 in the KwaZulu-Natal derby on Sunday. Kamvalethu Cele scored the only goal of the match just before the halftime break and that proved to be the winner. This was Maritzburg second victory on the trot.

Elsewhere, TS Galaxy leapfrogged Chippa United in fourth place on the log after a narrow 1-0 win on Saturday morning at Wolfson Stadium. The Rockets have now put themselves in a good position to challenge for the title with six games remaining. Mike Sebelebele scored the goal which proved to be enough to earn the Rockets maximum points.

In the Mother City, Cape Town City was held to a goalless draw by Golden Arrows. Arrows have not had a good season as they remain in position 13 with 27 points in as many as 24 matches of the season.

Marumo Gallants registered a rare victory, defeating Baroka FC 1-0 in a Limpopo derby. It was Gallants fourth win of the season. Despite collecting maximum points, the Limpopo based club remains at the bottom of the log with 16 points from 24 matches.

"Very disappointing!": Football fans criticise PSL teams for not giving youngsters enough chances

Readers have expressed dismay at revelations that Premier Soccer League clubs are among the worst on the planet when it comes to giving young players an opportunity.

As reported by Sports Brief, this comes after a damning report by the CIES Football Observatory which researched 60 professional leagues across the globe was released.

The criteria for the report was determined by "ranking 60 leagues worldwide according to the percentage of minutes played by U21 players since the 1st of January 2021.
