  • The Premier Soccer League released the DStv Premiership Goal of the Month list for amazing strikes from February and March
  • The public can vote for its favourite goal, which will be announced alongside the Player and Coach of the Month
  • Unsurprisingly, controversy has already risen surrounding the goals that should or should not be on the nomination list

The DStv Premiership Goals of the Month nominees for February and March have been announced.

The Premier Soccer League released the list of 10 goals on its website, allowing fans to vote for their favourite net burster.

1. Keegan Ritchie, Maritzburg United vs Sekhukhune United

Maritzburg United played to a one-all draw against Sekhukhune United in Johannesburg, where Keegan Ritchie equalised for the People's Team with the perfect grass cutter in wet conditions.

2. Goodman Mosele, Orlando Pirates vs SuperSport United

Goodman Mosele completed Orlando Pirates' come-from-behind 3-2 win against SuperSport United at Orlando Stadium with a curling shot from outside the box with the last kick of the match.

3. Reeve Frosler, Kaizer Chiefs vs Orlando Pirates

Reeve Frosler opened the scoring in the Soweto Derby for the Amakhosi against Orlando Pirates with a pile-driver that almost burnt off goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane's fingers.

4. Khuliso Mudau, Mamelodi Sundowns vs TS Galaxy

Khuliso Mudau set the Brazilians on their way to a 3-0 victory of TS Galaxy in Nelspruit with a fantastic curling shot which gave the goalkeeper no chance to save it.

5. Haashim Domingo, Mamelodi Sundowns vs TS Galaxy

Haashim Domingo somewhat stole his teammate's thunderbolt with an even better strike than Mudau's in the same match to seal all three points.

6. Lyle Lakay, Mamelodi Sundowns vs Baroka FC

Lyle Lakay's sweetly-struck free-kick against Baroka FC continued Sundowns' dominance of the nomination list. Interestingly, Richard Mbulu's equaliser in the same game - one of the best hits you'll ever see - did not get nominated.

7. Friday Samu, Maritzburg United vs SuperSport United

Friday Samu scored the type of goal against SuperSport United that, were it scored by Mohamed Salah, the whole world would be raving in his praise.

8. Khanyisa Mayo, Cape Town City vs Golden Arrows

Khanyiso Mayo's glorious free-kick fittingly won an away match for Cape Town City against Golden Arrows.

9. Vusimusi Ncube, Sekhukhune United vs Baroka FC

Vusimusi Ncube thrillingly finished off a sweeping counterattack for Sekhukhune United as they hammered Baroka FC 4-0 at Ellis Park.

10. Knox Mutizwa, Golden Arrows vs Kaizer Chiefs

Knox Mutizwa turned Eric Mathoho's comically poor back pass into an artistic finish with a calm but beautiful chip as Arrows defeated Chiefs 1-0 last Saturday.

Cape Town City trolls Kaizer Chiefs fans' Goal of the Month voting

Cape Town City's social media administrator was not particularly happy with the DStv Premiership Goal of the Month pick judging by a tweet sent from the club's Twitter account.

As reported by Sports Brief, Kaizer Chiefs' Nkosingiphile Ngcobo's super strike against Sekhukhune United won the fan vote for the month of December.

City's entrant on the poll was Mpho Makola's superb free-kick against Moroka Swallows, which sealed a 2-1 win for the Citizens.
