Ukrainian coach Yuriy Vernydub who is the handler of Moldovan professional football club Sheriff Tiraspol has joined his country's army to fight the Russians over heartbreaking invasion.

For the past few days now, Ukrainian people have been living in serious tension since their country was invaded by Russian troops on the order of President Vladimir Putin.

Vladimir Putin has also warned other nations around the world not to join the war between his country and Ukraine claiming that there would be serious consequences.

According to the report on Mirror and Marca, Yuriy Vernydub is currently on the streets of Ukraine ready to defend his nation against Russia.

Vernydub enjoyed a 17-year professional career as a player which ended with three seasons at Russian giants Zenit Saint Petersburg.

Yuriy Vernydub became the coach at Sheriff Tiraspol in 2022 and recently made the headlines after stering his team to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Top football manager resigns from Russian club over Ukraine invasion

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Lokomotiv Moscow have been dealt a huge blow following a decision by their manager, Markus Gisdol, to resign over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The German tactician has spent the better part of his coaching career with clubs in his homeland.

However, he landed a managerial role with Lokomotiv Moscow back in October 2021, earning him a move out of his country.

But after just five months at the helm of affairs at Lokomotiv Moscow, the 52-year-old has decided to call time on his stint with the Russian club.

According to Gisdol, his decision to turn his back on Lokomotiv Moscow was influenced by Russia's decision to wage a war on Ukraine.
