Ralf Rangnick has slammed Man United's forwards following the club's frustrating goalless draw with relegation-battlers, Watford.

Despite their dominance in the Saturday, February 26, clash, United were unable to make any of their efforts count as they settled for a stalemate.

According to stats, the Red Devils took 22 shots at goal but failed to make the most of the opportunities they created at Old Trafford.

Their disappointing display courted boos and jeers from the support base at full time as the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Elanga all failed to find the back of the net.

Rangnick criticises United forward

Speaking after the match, United interim boss Rangnick took an issue with his forwards for being wasteful in front of the goal.

The German tactician bemoaned the number of goalscoring chances missed by his side, noting his attack-line lacked sharpness and efficiency.

"We did everything apart from score. It’s hard to take that result. In the end, if you miss that many chances it is difficult to win the game," Rangnick pointed out.
"We need to be sharper in front of goal, you can hardly create more chances than we did today. In the end, it is a very frustrating afternoon," he added.

Man United suffer top four blow

Meanwhile, United's frustrating display against the Hornets now leaves them in danger of missing out on a top-four finish.

The Manchester side currently occupy fourth place with 47 points, just two behind rivals Arsenal who have three matches in hand.

The Gunners are scheduled to take on Watford in their next league match at Vicarage Road on Sunday, March 6.
