Lille Forward Angel Gomes was left stunned after realizing Lionel Messi actually wanted to swap shirts with him.
The defending Ligue 1 champions were thumped 5-1 by Paris Saint Germain on Sunday, February 6 at the Stade Pierre Mauroy, in a game where Messi was the star of the show.
Messi got only his second Ligue 1 goal since signing for PSG, although he also set up Presnel Kimpembe for a goal and saw his curling free-kick hit the post on Sunday.
Goals from Kylian Mbappe and Danilo were enough to give Les Parisiens all three points against a Lille as the Parisians continued their march towards another league title.

FootballFor Lille, it was another crushing defeat for a side that impressively won the league last season but is somehow struggling to replicate their form this term.
Former Manchester United man Angel Gomes however will be smiling despite the defeat as he got the rare opportunity to trade shirts with Lionel Messi.
After the final whistle, Gomes bumped into Messi in the tunnel and it looked like there was an agreement that he would receive the Argentine’s shirt.
His expectation was that Messi would hand him a shirt and walk off, but to his surprise, the 34-year old gestured that he wanted Gomes’ shirt as well in exchange.
The whole thing was delightful to watch as both players exchanged shirts and smiles as they walked away.
Gomes joined Lille from Manchester United in August 2020 after being with the Old Trafford club since he was six.

When asked why he decided to join Newcastle at the expense of Arsenal, the 24-year-old divulged he felt his new club are as big as Arsenal and with bigger ambitions.
The former Lyon star described Newcastle as "a historic club" with "a beautiful history" as he revealed his desire to help make them a force to reckon with.
