Rodney Appiah, son of former Ghana captain, Stephen Appiah, says it was an honour to play against a former teammate of his father Sulley Muntari in the Ghana Premier League.

The young Appiah featured for Great Olympics as they stunned Ghana Premier League champions Hearts of Oak, which had Sulley Muntari in their fold.

After the game, Rodney Appiah took to social media to express his excitement as he faced the 37-year-old former Ghana midfielder.

"It’s an honour playing against the legend Sulley Muntari," wrote the teenager.

Rodney Appiah is following the footsteps of his father after deciding to quit school to pursue his football career.

Having joined the Dade Boys last season, the young Appiah is beginning to get play time in Ghana's topflight league.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has expressed delight after seeing his son, Rodney Appiah, play against former Black Stars teammate Sulley Muntari in the Premier League.

Rodney Appiah, the eldest son of the legendary Ghanaian footballer, played for Great Olympics against Sulley Muntari's Hearts of Oak.

Muntari, who was making his debut for the Phobians, in a video posted on Twitter, is seen being man-marked by Rodney Appiah.

Sulley Muntari's son, Jamal Kruise Muntari, has finally seen his dream of watching his father play at a stadium come to reality after the former Ghana midfielder made his debut for Hearts of Oak.

The former AC Milan and Inter Milan star replaced defender William Dankyi in the 77th minute as the Phobians lost 1-0 on his debut.

In photos posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, Muntari's son and wife, Menaye Donkor were there to support the Black Stars legend.
