"After playing with Sulley Muntari for many years it's a great JOY to see my SON Rodney Appiah playing against him," wrote Stephen Appiah on Twitter.

Rodney Appiah helped Great Olympics defeat Hearts of Oak on Muntari's debut, after a first half striker from Yussif Abdul Razak separated the two sides.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that it is very uncommon for a player to play against his teammate's son but that is exactly what Sulley Muntari has done on Sunday.

During the Accra-derby match in the Ghana Premier League, the legendary Ghanaian international achieved a feat that not any other players in history will ever accomplish.

The 37-year-old lined up for Hearts of Oak's 1-0 defeat against Great Olympics, with 19-year-old Rodney Appiah featuring for the Dade Boys, 12 years after his father Stephen Appiah last played alongside Muntari during the 2010 World Cup.

The former AC Milan and Inter Milan star replaced defender William Dankyi in the 77th minute as the Phobians lost 1-0 on his debut.

In photos posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, Muntari's son and wife, Menaye Donkor were there to support the Black Stars legend.
