Real Madrid's new players

The club made some big signings in the summer transfer window of 2022. They signed highly-rated defender Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea for free. They also brought Aurélien Tchouameni from AS Monaco for $79.7 million to beef up the squad.

Real Madrid's coach

The current head coach is Carlo Ancelotti, the most decorated manager in UEFA Champions League history. He succeeded Jose Mourinho on 25th June 2013, after leaving Paris Saint-Germain.

After some losses, he was relieved of his duties on 25th May 2015, but returned to Los Blancos on 1st June 2021. He has led his team to win all six Madrid trophies, including the 2022 UEFA Super Cup. His son, Davide Ancelotti, is currently his assistant.

Real Madrid's owners

The club is managed as a registered association, meaning its supporters, called "socios", own it. The club's funds are generated from sponsorships, merchandise sales, commercial partnerships, prize money, television rights, and ticket sales.

The club only sells membership, not shares. Socios form an assembly of delegates, the club's highest governing body, that elects the president. Other teams with this kind of governance include Athletic Bilbao, Barcelona, and Osasuna. Forbes named it the most valuable football club in the world in 2022 at $5.1 billion.
