Ligue 2 club, FC Nantes, On June 9, 2009, appointed him head coach. The agreement was in effect until June 30, 2011. On December 3, 2009, it occurred. He was replaced at FC Nantes by Jean-Marc Furlan, who was fired on December 3.

Rohr took over as manager of the Gabon national football team from Alain Giresse on February 21, 2010. He took over as manager of Niger's football team in September 2012. He resigned in October 2014.

In August 2016, he was appointed manager of the Nigerian national football team. Amaju Pinnick, the Nigeria Football Federation's president, appointed him manager. Tanzania's solitary goal was sufficient to win his debut game in charge of the Nigerian team, which he guided to a 1-0 triumph in Uyo. However, Nigeria fell 2–0 to South Africa at home on June 10.
