The striker was about to sign a three-year contract with Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow for $10.5 million, the fourth-highest transfer fee in Russian football history.

The Ghanaian star has since played for several clubs, including Rennes, Sunderland, Al Ain, Shanghai SPG, Kayserispor, North East United, and Legon Cities in Ghana.

Gyan is one footballer who doesn't mind showcasing his exotic car collection on social media. We have seen him with a fleet of rides on Instagram, among them a $400000 gold Rolls Royce. The car's gold colour represents the luxury that comes with such a high taste.

He also bought a Mercedes-Benz SLA AMG valued at over $250,000, similar to the Rolls Royce. However, the Mercedes is more affordable than the Rolls Royce. It boasts alloy wheels, front power windows, and automatic climate control.

The footballer has shown additional cars at least as pricey as these two, on several social media posts. Of course, you would expect nothing less from a brilliant footballer and businessman who earns over six figures annually.

How does Asamoah Gyan spend his fortune?

It has become the norm for the world's rich and famous to spend money like it's going out of style, and who could blame them? After all, whatever goes out of their pockets is replaced a hundredfold the next second.

In the case of Ghanaian super scorer Asamoah Gyan, the footballer-turned-businessman spends as much as he makes, on the construction and decoration of his home and on a collection of exotic automobiles.

Retirement

Gyan says his professional career is not over as he seeks to regain health and form. The 36-year-old played the 2020-21 season with Ghana Premier League (GPL) club Legon Cities, joining as a free agent last November. Many had assumed Gyan would retire now that the GPL is over, but the former Black Stars captain insists he is still hungry to play.

Speaking to Ghana's Kessben FM, Gyan explained his desire to continue with football saying, “there were some injuries last season, but I am not done playing football. Then, of course, I can wake up one day and announce my retirement from football, but at the moment, I am active.

“People will criticize me, but I am only hoping to get back to my usual form and weight. But if I cannot regain my form, I will call it off, but I am now working on myself to lose weight."

He went on to say, “I returned to Legon Cities, and you could see that things did not go as planned because I have been putting on weight, but I am giving myself another season, and I trust I will be back to my form, and if I am on my form, I don’t think I will be overlooked, but for retirement, not now.”

Since the 2019 AFCON, Gyan has not featured for Ghana's Black Stars. Sunderland, Udinese, Rennes, Al Ain, Shanghai SIPG, and Kayserispor are among the many clubs he has played for.

Who is the richest footballer in Ghana?

Michael Kojo Essien is the richest footballer in Ghana as of 2021/22. For his powerful and brave performances, he earned the nickname "The Bison". He has played more than 50 times for the Ghanaian national team. Essien is worth $35 Million, $12 Million more than Asamoah Gyan's net worth.
