The 2025 Formula 1 drivers' market is certainly one that continues to generate a buzz across the paddock.

As many as 14 drivers on the grid are currently without a seat for next season, continuing to spark conversation about how certain teams could still line up.

One driver who appears to have his future sorted is Lewis Hamilton, who rocked the motorsport world when he announced his surprise move from Mercedes AMG to Scuderia Ferrari.

This seemingly unexpected move has meant the German brand are in a race against time to find an ideal replacement for the British driver.

However, as the Brackley team continues to scout a potential replacement, Hamilton has named a driver he would want to replace him.

Hamilton speaks on his replacement at Mercedes

Ahead of the Free Practice session of the 2024 Japanese Grand Prix, the Mercedes driver hinted at the possibility of another veteran of the sport taking over his seat from the 2025 season.

In an interview with the media, the 39-year-old expressed his thoughts, as captured by Planet F1:

"I would love to see Seb [Sebastian Vettel] come back; it would be an amazing option for the team.
"A German driver, multi-world champion and someone who has amazing values and would continue to take the team forward. I would love it if he came back. The only thing I really care about is that the team takes on someone with integrity."

Vettel, on the other hand, seems keen on returning to racing after retiring in 2022. The four-time Formula 1 champion had previously confirmed to Sky Sports F1 that he had discussions with Mercedes Chief, Toto Wolff.

Sports Brief also previously offered a detailed preview, plus information and predictions, for the upcoming Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix.

Set to take place in Suzuka, this race represents a crucial stage in the 2024 season's Asian leg as drivers aim to end Max Verstappen's reign.

Several teams, including Mercedes AMG, are keen to enhance their performance after the challenges they faced in the previous three races.
