Messi had a dream World Cup campaign with Argentina during the 2022 edition of the campaign in Qatar, as he helped the South Americans lift the trophy for the first time since 1986.

Clarin claims that Messi held the miniature for several minutes, without discovering it was not the one handed to him by FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

In fact, it took the intervention of his teammate Angel Di Maria for the veteran to realise he was celebrating with a fake trophy.
