Arsenal players have continued to support Gunners loanee Pablo Mari who was a victim of a vicious kine attack in Italy.

Mari, on loan at Serie A club Monza, was stabbed by a knife-wielding attacker who injured five people and killed one person in a shopping centre.

The 29-year-old was out shopping with his young son and wife when a 46-year-old man started randomly attacking shoppers on Thursday evening in a Carrefour in the Milanofirori di Assago shopping centre, according to Football London.

According to Sky Sports, the centre-back is now recuperating after being released from hospital on Sunday, October 30th

Doctors carried out surgery to repair two injured muscles in Mari's back, reports also revealed the belly muscles were stitched back together, and Mari will need two months to recover fully.

Arsenal show support

When Gabriel Martinelli headed the Gunners in front in the 5th minute, the young Brazilian went to the corner and was given a Pablo Mari shirt before posing with his teammates.

Earlier in the match, Gunners players and staff demonstrated their strong support by posing for a picture with Mari's number 22 shirt. Mari said things would've been worse.

"I was lucky, because I saw a person die in front of me."

The 29-year-old Spanish defender posted a message on Instagram confirming he and his family are doing well after a few scary days.

Mari has played 22 times for Arsenal and was shipped to Monza due to competition for places at the club.

The defender was seriously injured after getting stabbed at a supermarket in Italy.

Reports from Italy claimed Pablo Mari was stabbed at Carrefour in the Milanofiori di Assago at around 6:30 pm local time.
