Arsenal ace Bukayo Saka responded perfectly to some unscrupulous Tottenham fans who tried to knock him off his game with mean chants.

The Gunners faced Spurs in a North London derby on Sunday, April 28, as they looked to keep their Premier League title ambitions alive.

Mikel Arteta’s side showed their credentials by outshining their North London rivals in the first half, as goals from Saka, Kai Havertz and a Pierre-Emile Hojberg own goal set them on a victory course.

Saka taunted by Tottenham fans

Fan footage from the first half has since emerged online, showing some Tottenham fans trying to get under Saka’s skin as he prepared to take a corner.

In the video, the fans can be heard chanting "you let your country down", referencing the winger’s penalty miss in the Euro 2020 final shootout.

A cruel twist of fate soon followed, as Saka’s resulting corner was headed in by Hojberg into his own net.

The crowd instantly went silent, while Saka turned to them and cupped his ears with a cheeky smile in a hilarious but savage clapback.

Spurs fall short in comeback attempt

Tottenham were a rejuvenated side in the second half, with Cristian Romero giving his side hope with a goal to make it 3-1.

Son Heung Min then scored from the penalty spot to reduce the deficit to a single goal, but it was not enough to mount a comeback as the Gunners went back home with all three points.

There was a slice of controversy towards the end as Tottenham’s late goal by Micky van de Ven was ruled out for offside after a review by VAR, according to Football London.

Cristian Romero criticizes VAR

Sports Brief also reported on Cristian Romero’s controversial tweet after his side lost against Arsenal.

The Argentine criticized VAR, citing a different game involving his team where West Ham’s goal was allowed to stand.

On that occasion, a shot came off Romero and another Tottenham defender, allowing Jarrod Bowen to slot home.
