With ongoing speculation over Mohamed Salah's future at Anfield and Jurgen Klopp's departure at the end of the 2023/24 season, Liverpool must already seek replacements for the Egyptian.

Al-Ittihad and other Saudi Pro League clubs have attempted to lure Salah from Merseyside in the past two transfer windows and are likely to make another attempt in the summer.

While replacing Salah is anticipated to pose a significant challenge due to his substantial goal contributions to the Liverpool side, there are ample options available to mitigate the potential setback.

Sports Brief takes a look at five potential replacements who the Reds could target.

Players who could replace Salah at Liverpool

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Napoli)

Kvaratskhelia is a versatile player comfortable with both feet, making him suitable for various positions on the field.

At just 23 years old, he's one of the most promising players on the list, though there's still room for further development.

With 88 goal contributions in 190 appearances, his potential is evident. However, Liverpool might face hurdles due to Napoli's strong stance in the transfer market.

However, his adaptability and ambidexterity place Kvaratskhelia at the forefront of the list.

Michael Olise (Crystal Palace)

A player with Premier League experience, like Olise, would ease the transition to Liverpool, especially considering his previous interest from top clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea.

At 22 years old, he's still developing, with 68 goal contributions in 190 appearances, including his time at Reading. Despite Crystal Palace's lower league standing, his stats remain impressive, suggesting he could flourish with better teammates.

Despite modest goal-scoring figures, he nearly matched Salah's assists in the 2022/23 season despite playing fewer games.

Leroy Sane (Bayern Munich)

The 28-year-old's extensive career feels longer due to his achievements.

With Premier League experience from his time at Manchester City, including two league titles, he brings invaluable know-how to Liverpool.

Despite his injury history, which includes a cruciate ligament tear in 2019, his impressive 242-goal contributions in 439 appearances showcase his talent and potential for further success.

Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford)

Mbeumo's high ranking on this list might surprise some, but his impressive performances for Brentford speak for themselves.

While primarily a right-winger, he's versatile enough to play as a second striker or centre-forward. With strength, pace, and proficiency with his left foot, he's a threat when cutting inside.

With Premier League experience, he's shown he can excel at the highest level. In 237 appearances, he's contributed to 106 goals, impressive figures for a winger. At 24 years old, he still has ample time to develop, especially surrounded by better teammates

Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United)

Bowen's stature has soared since his move to West Ham United from Hull City in January 2020, establishing himself as one of the Premier League's most formidable wingers.

While his primary position is on the right wing, Bowen has displayed versatility, capable of operating as a second striker or center forward. With 160 goal contributions in 327 appearances, the 27-year-old is entering his prime years, likely to bolster his numbers further.

Despite his tenacity, Bowen's injury record is commendable, having missed only two games due to an ankle issue in January 2024.

Salah clashes with Klopp

Sports Brief earlier reported that Salah and Jurgen Klopp were involved in a heated argument on the touchline during Liverpool's Premier League game at West Ham.

The Reds saw their title ambition slip once again after a 2-2 draw at the London Olympic Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Salah started on the bench as a strike from Andy Robertson and an Alphonse Areola own-goal were cancelled out by goals from Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio.
