  • Raphael Onyedika scored a crucial goal for Club Brugge in their 3-0 win over Royal Antwerp
  • The Nigerian midfielder, however, received his third booking in the Championship playoffs
  • Speculation about the 22-year-old's potential transfer during the summer has heightened

Raphael Onyedika showcased his prowess once again after bagging a crucial goal for Club Brugge in their commanding 3-0 victory over Royal Antwerp in the Belgian Pro League on Sunday, April 14.

The midfielder found the back of the net moments before halftime, setting the stage for a dominant performance by Les Gazelles.

However, he received his third booking in the Championship playoffs, which will keep him sidelined for the upcoming clash against Union St. Gilloise next Sunday, April 21.

As reported by Afrik Foot, the goal against The Great Old was his third in as many games, following his brace against Anderlecht the previous week. His Bundesliga compatriot and Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface, teased him for supposedly ignoring his calls.

It appears almost certain that Club Brugge will not be able to resist the transfer offerings they will receive for the 22-year-old in the summer transfer window.

Onyedika's impressive performances have attracted attention from top-tier clubs, domestically and abroad.

A report from Dutch outlet Voetbalnieuws suggested a host of Premier League clubs, including Everton, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest, were keen to compete with Turkish club Galatasaray for his signature.

With his market value estimated to have soared to €15 million, Onyedika's departure seems increasingly likely, especially with the recent acquisition of Luzern midfielder Ardon Jashari.

The Suoer Eagles player's future has been the subject of speculation since the previous transfer window, with rumours even linking him to Spanish giants Barcelona.

Why Onyedika is the solution to Barcelona's midfield issues

Sports Brief listed reasons why Onyedika could solve Barcelona's midfield woes.

The Spanish club faces a dilemma in filling the void former captain Sergio Busquets left.

Despite acquiring Oriol Romeu from Catalan neighbours Girona, the team has struggled to address the significant gap left by the maestro.
