  • Twitter's Elon Musk recently challenged Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg to a fight
  • UFC chief Dana White said a cage match between the two is a serious possibility
  • Both Musk and Zuckerberg have previously been trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu

What initially appeared as a casual back-and-forth between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk on Twitter may have taken a serious twist, as far as comments from UFC chief, Dana White, are concerned.

What seemed like another joke by the Tesla CEO has evolved, with White recently stating the two tech CEOs were 'dead serious' about an extraordinary fight in the octagon.

Musk had previously teased about being willing to engage in a cage fight with Zuckerberg, to which the Meta CEO responded by sharing a screenshot of the tweet and daring him to send a location.

Musk seemingly responded with just two words: 'Vegas Octagon'.

UFC Chief, White, was quizzed about this potential showdown between the tech CEOs by TMZ and he had this to say:

"The biggest fight of all time was Floyd [Mayweather] and Conor [McGregor], I just think it triples that. It triples what that [fight] did, there's no limit on what that thing can make."

The UFC boss believes the fight could happen in Las Vegas and said pay-per-view could come in at $100 to $200 more than what is usually charged for his events.

Musk teases fight with Zuckerberg

51-year-old Musk offered up the match after commenting on a post about Zuckerberg's newest possible project, which will reportedly be called Threads and is planned to rival Twitter.

The South African has trained in Kyokushin karate, taekwondo, judo, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu 'briefly' he revealed on Joe Rogan's podcast, and he has shared a photo of himself fighting a sumo wrestler in the past.

The Tesla chief even raised the possibility of the controversial podcast host refereeing their bout.

However, Musk might not find a match against Zuckerberg as easy as he thinks, as his Meta CEO rival recently placed in a jiu-jitsu tournament in May.

Either way, White has spied an opportunity and is eager to make it happen.

"Maybe to some degree, your ability to keep doing interesting things is your willingness to be embarrassed again and go back to step one and start as a beginner, and get your behind kicked," Zuckerberg said on a podcast earlier this year.

Zuckerberg: 'I wasn't passed out'

Zuckerberg also bashed a New York Times report claiming he was knocked out during a jiu-jitsu fight after a referee ended the bout early and gave the win to his opponent.

A clip of the Meta CEO trying to break free from an opponent who pinned him down on the mat went viral. They struggled for more than a minute before the match was called.

The official reportedly said he stopped the fight because he heard Zuckerberg snoring and thought he had passed out during the chokehold.

However, the tech CEO and his coach, Dave Camarillo, told the publication he had not lost consciousness and the referee mistook his grunting for snoring.

"That never happened," Zuckerberg wrote in an email to the publication.

White issues invitation to Fury

Speaking of blockbuster bouts, Sports Brief previously reported on UFC President, Dana White, stating he would gladly welcome Tyson Fury to the Octagon.

The WBC Heavyweight champion had initially launched an explosive tirade after Joe Rogan claimed the Gypsy King would stand no chance against Jon Jones.

Fury was outraged with the comment, while Jones claimed Rogan had touched a nerve. It is certain White will relish a potential blockbuster between the two.
