  • Kylian Mbappe recently revealed he will not stay at PSG past next season
  • The Parisians are boxed in and may be forced to sell the French superstar
  • The World Cup winner also took a swipe at his club for Lionel Messi’s exit

Paris Saint-Germain star, Kylian Mbappe, has taken a swipe at the club over their underwhelming performances in a bombshell interview.

The 24-year-old has slammed the decision to allow Lionel Messi to move on as the striker looks to leave Parc des Princes on a free transfer in 2024.

Mbappe's desire to depart the Ligue 1 club next year emerged earlier in the week after it was revealed he would not be exercising an extension of his current contract.

After reports in France claimed he wanted to join Real Madrid this summer, the 2018 World Cup winner told AFP, per Barrons, he plans to stay at PSG for his last season.

But to avoid losing Mbappe in what would be the biggest free transfer of all time, the Parisians are understood to be looking to cash in on him now if they cannot persuade him into penning fresh terms.

However, it appears that the ex-Monaco forward has already made up his mind, as he explained his reasons for seeking a new adventure to Gazzetta dello Sport.

"For a player like me, the goal is to win everything. And we knew that at PSG there were shortcomings that sooner or later we were going to end up paying for. I didn't say I wanted to be sold to Real Madrid or want to leave, but only that I won't activate the option on the extra year. With PSG, there has never been any talk of a renewal."

Mbappe discusses Messi’s departure

Mbappe also revealed his stance on Messi's departure after just two years in the French capital, with the 35-year-old set to join MLS outfit, Inter Miami.

The Frenchman called the Argentine's exit 'bad news'.

"[Messi is] one of the greatest players in the history of football. It's never good news when someone like Messi leaves. I don't quite understand why so many people were so relieved that he was gone. He didn't get the respect he deserved in France."

Reports have stated that Wilfried Zaha, who is set to leave Crystal Palace for free, could replace Messi at PSG.

Meanwhile, the Parisians could lose another star of their attacking trio this summer with Brazilian winger, Neymar Junior linked with a switch to Saudi Arabia.

Camavinga wants Mbappe at Madrid

Sports Brief earlier reported Eduardo Camavinga discussing the Mbappe transfer rumours amid reports linking the PSG star with Real Madrid.

The Frenchman's decision to forego the one-year extension clause in his current contract has reignited uncertainty about his future in France.

Speaking on the potential of playing alongside Mbappe at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Camavinga admitted he would be happy to see it.
