During his post-match press conference, Adesanya admitted he was being petty and getting revenge for the time Alessandro son trolled him after a kickboxing match.
The Last Stylebender has since faced criticism for his actions, with both Robert Whittaker and Paulo Costa taking issue with Izzy’s actions.
The Nigerian-born Kiwi doesn’t regret doing what he did, though, and has once again defended his actions insisting he ‘did that kid a favour.’
In a video posted to his Twitter account, Adesanya explained that if his son had done to an opponent what Pereira’s son did to him, he would immediately made his child apologise.
“If you’re not going to teach your kids manner and respect, I will. I did him a favour,” he said.
Adesanya’s latest comments about his rivalry with Pereira come on the back of the Brazilian’s assertion that he is still the better fighter.
Poatan claimed that he was still superior between the two despite suffering a knockout loss at UFC 287, The Mirror reported.
