According to IOL, Baron represented Lillestrom SK between 1999 and 2005, where he made 115 appearances before joining Chiefs. Since his broken leg, the 43-year-old has struggled to find employment, with his situation having deteriorated.

Baron’s luck is about to turn for the better as an amount of about R2-million is expected from Lillestrom SK supporters, who adored him during his time at the club. TimesLive reported on the initiative in which Lillestrom SK's communications head, Morten Stokstad said that 1 099 300 Norwegian Kroner had been raised with nearly 5000 people having contributed.
