Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner got a first-hand look at Wimbledon’s Centre Court on Thursday, with the two tennis stars the first ones to practice at the famous venue this year.

Wimbledon's social media team posted a video of the two practicing together on the slick surface.

Djokovic and Sinner were seen having an intense rally in the first part of the video, with the latter winning the point with a passing shot.

First practice on Centre Court

Sinner again had the better of Djokovic in the second part of the video, with the former unleashing a down-the-line forehand winner after the two of them traded heavy groundstrokes.

The hits they produced during the short video were reminiscent of their exchanges during last year’s epic clash at the Wimbledon quarterfinals.

Djokovic survives Sinner test

Sinner came close to dethroning Djokovic in that match, building a two-set lead against the Serb, per CBS Sports.

There is no quit with the defending champion, however, winning the last three sets to beat Sinner 5-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

Fans would want nothing more than to see the two of them lock horns once again at Centre Court this year.

Sinner injured ahead of Wimbledon

Djokovic and Sinner enter this year’s Wimbledon in vastly different circumstances.

Djokovic is fresh off a win at the French Open that netted him a record 23rd Grand Slam title.

Sinner, on the other hand, suffered an adductor muscle injury during his quarterfinal match against Alexander Bublik at Halle and was forced to retire.

The good news for Sinner and his fans is that the doctors have given him the clearance to participate at Wimbledon.

Based on the video of his practice with Djokovic, Sinner might go on a deep run at Wimbledon once again this year.

Djokovic makes history in Paris

Sports Brief previously reported on Djokovic becoming the newest member of the Triple Career Grand Slam club.

He joined Steffi Graf, Margaret Court, and Serena Williams on that exclusive list.

Djokovic achieved the impressive milestone when he defeated Casper Ruud in the 2023 French Open final.
