Round 11 of the United Rugby Championship is in the books.

The Bulls and the Glasgow Warriors kept the pressure on Leinster at the top of the table, with all three teams earning wins this weekend.

An electric atmosphere greeted the Bulls and the Stormers at Loftus Versveld on Saturday evening.

The home faithful did not leave disappointed as Jake White's men ended a six-match losing streak against the Capetoninans.

The Bulls got off to a perfect start with a try in the opening minute. A string of penalties kept the hosts in front as the Stormers replied with tries from Ben Loader and Evan Roos to end the half at 19-15.

The Stormers committed too many unforced errors throughout the match and the Bulls took advantage of a Warrick Gelant sin-bin to gain ascendency at a crucial stage.

Johan Grobbelaar finished off a powerful rolling maul to get the second half's first points and Canan Moodie can thank the bounce of the ball for his try shortly after.

Andre-Hugo Venter kept the visitors in the game with his try but Embrose Papier hammered home the final nail in the 75th minute.

With seven games to play, the win keeps the Bulls in the hunt for a crucial home quarter-final.

The URC takes a two-week break and will return on the weekend of March 23.

Lions gut Sharks in Johannesburg

Sports Brief recently reported on the Lions earning their fifth win of the season against the Sharks.

The game will be remembered for the 40-minute halftime delay to a massive highveld thunderstorm.

The Lions ran out 40-10 winners thanks to six tries and a dominant performance by the Lions forwards.
