Argentina vs. Samoa Betting Preview

Where: Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, France

When: Friday, September 22 - 5:45pm local time

Odds: Argentina (-13.5) vs. Samoa (+13.5) - view all lines

Betting on Argentina (-13.5)

Argentina had a golden opportunity to start their 2023 Rugby World Cup on a winning note. They had a man advantage for most of the match against England after flanker, Tom Curry picked up a red card.

The Pumas struggled to make that advantage count against 14-man England, who recorded a stunning 27-10 win. They had no answer for George Ford, who kicked all of England's points, including three drop-goals.

The Pumas will look to get back on track when they face Samoa at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on Friday.

Head coach, Michael Cheika has made three changes to Argentina's starting lineup that lost to England, with Matías Moroni coming into the midfield, Eduardo Bello into the front row, and Guido Petti into the second row for the game against Samoa.

Moroni earns his third start of the year after playing four of his six tests off the bench for Argentina.

Betting on Samoa (+13.5)

Samoa will head to their showdown against Argentina with momentum on their side after beating Chile 43-10 in their opening group match.

Sama Malolo starred for the Samoans, scoring two tries in the rout, per Sky Sports.

Flanker Fritz Lee, Duncan Paia'aua, and Jonathan Taumateine crossed as well for Samoa, who earned a bonus point in the come-from-behind win.

Head coach, Vaovasamanaia Seilala Mapusua has made three changes to Samoa's starting lineup that won against Chile, with Ben Lam coming onto the wing, Paul Alo-Emile into the front row, and Brian Alainu’u’ese into the second row for the game against Argentina.

Paia’aua will once again start for Samoa in the crunch clash. He is the only player to have played every minute for Samoa across all five tests this year. He is in a rich vein of form, having scored a try in each of his last three games.
