When it came to the other South African sides, the Lions beat the Dragons 33-25 while the Stormers beat the Scarlets 36-19. The Sharks though, had a weekend to forget.

The KZN side were beaten 35-0 in Durban, Sport24 reported. Cardiff made history in the process, becoming the first Welsh team to win a URC clash in South Africa.

The Sharks looked lost for large periods of the game, despite playing in front of their home fans, and never looked likely to mount any real challenge. The loss leaves them in 10th place on the log, the worst-placed of the South African sides.

URC: Vodacom Bulls remain undefeated

The Vodacom Bulls have placed a marker this season in the United Rugby Championship, with the Pretoria-based side putting on another strong performance.

The Bulls picked up a bonus point win over Connacht at Loftus Versfeld, thanks to tries from Zak Burger (2) Kurt-Lee Arendse, Marcell Coetzee and four conversions from Johan Goosen

The Vodacom Bulls had won three games in a row on South African soil in the United Rugby Championship, Sports Brief earlier reported.
