The worst-kept secret in the NHL was finally revealed on Wednesday night.

Before being selected by the Blackhawks, Bedard made a name for himself in the Western Hockey League.

Bedard stars in WHL

Bedard led the league in scoring last season, racking up 71 goals and 143 points in 57 games played in the 2022-23 campaign, per Bleacher Report.

He carried that scorching pace into his first career playoff run with Regina, recording 10 goals and 10 assists in the first round.

Bedard nearly led the underdog Pats to a stunning first-round upset win, with Regina losing the series in seven games.

Bedard was incredible on the international scene as well. The teen phenom scored four goals and recorded eight points for Team Canada at the summer world junior tournament in the city of Edmonton.

He continued that excellent form in the World Junior Championship held last December and January, recording nine goals and 23 points to lead Canada to the gold medal.

He made history with that performance, becoming the all-time leading scorer for Canada at the world juniors.

Bedard tallied a whopping 194 points (94 goals and 100 assists) while playing for Regina and Canada last season, cementing his status as the hottest NHL prospect since Connor McDavid in 2015.

He will look to help a Chicago Blackhawks team that finished last season with just 26 wins and 59 points.

Vegas wins Stanley Cup

Vegas defeated the Florida Panthers 9-3 in Game 5 of the competition's final.

The Stanley Cup is the Golden Knights' first-ever championship in the NHL.
