The Panthers accomplished the feat on Wednesday night, recording a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Matthew Tkachuk powered the Panthers, who completed an unexpected four-game sweep.
Tkachuk delivers again for Florida
The 25-year-old winger sent Panthers fans into a frenzy when he scored the series-winning goal with just 4.9 seconds remaining in regulation.
It was an incredible performance by Tkachuk, who registered his third game-winning goal of the postseason, per ESPN.
Tkachuk delivered when his team needed him most, scoring twice in Game 4.
The Panthers will be delighted to finish the Hurricanes in four games as they earned several days off before the Stanley Cup Final, which starts on June 3.
Historic sweep for the Panthers
It was the first time that Florida had recorded a sweep in a playoff series. What made this feat so incredible is that the Panthers did it against the Hurricanes, who were the Metropolitan Division champs.
