New York Jets 2023 NFL Schedule: Primetime and AFC East Divisional Games

  • The New York Jets will have five prime-time games in the 2023 NFL season
  • Aaron Rodgers’ debut will come against the Bills on Monday Night Football
  • The Jets will face the champs, Chiefs on October 1 on Sunday Night Football

The New York Jets’ 2023 schedule has finally been released.

Four-time NFL MVP, Aaron Rodgers has made New York must-see TV, with the Jets given five primetime games this season.  

Here’s what is in store for Gang Green this year.

September 11: Buffalo Bills (MNF)

TV: ESPN, ABC, ESPN+ (8:15 PM ET)

Aaron Rodgers’ first game as a Jet will be given the primetime treatment as New York hosts the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football in Week 1.

All eyes will be on the quarterback battle between Rodgers and Josh Allen.

September 17: at Dallas Cowboys

TV: CBS (4:25 PM ET)

Rodgers will face an old NFC foe in Week 2 as the Jets travel to Dallas to face the Cowboys. He is 6-3 in his career against Jerry Jones’ team.

September 24: New England Patriots

TV: CBS (1:00 PM ET)

The Jets will look to end their 14-game losing streak against the Patriots in Week 3 when they host New England in a blockbuster AFC East showdown.

Rodgers has a 2-2 record against the Pats in his NFL career.

October 1: Kansas City Chiefs (SNF) 

TV: NBC (8:20 PM ET)

The Jets’ second primetime game of the season will come in Week 4 when they host Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.

Rodgers and Mahomes have never faced each other in an NFL game, so NBC hopes this is finally the year these legendary quarterbacks lock horns.

October 8: at Denver Broncos

TV: CBS (4:25 PM ET)

The Jets will travel to Denver in Week 5 to face Russell Wilson and the Broncos.

They lost 16-9 to the Broncos in their last meeting on October 23, 2022.  

October 15: Philadelphia Eagles

TV: FOX (4:25 PM ET)

The Jets will be tested in Week 6 as they will face the reigning NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Rodgers has faced them seven times before during his time with Green Bay, with the 39-year-old sporting a 4-3 record.

October 22: Bye (Week 7)

October 29: at New York Giants

TV: CBS (1:00 PM ET) 

The Jets and the Giants renew their rivalry in Week 8, with Rodgers set to make his first appearance in the Battle of New York.

The former Packers QB is 4-2 in his career against the Giants.

November 6: Los Angeles Chargers (MNF)

TV: ESPN (8:15 PM ET) 

The Jets’ third primetime game of the season will come in Week 9 when they host Justin Herbert and the rest of the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.

Rodgers and Herbert have never faced each other in an NFL game, so this showdown between these two great quarterbacks will be highly anticipated.

November 12: at Las Vegas Raiders (SNF)

TV: NBC (8:20 PM ET)

The Jets will have another primetime game in Week 10. They will make the long trip to Las Vegas to face the Raiders on Sunday Night Football.

Rodgers loves playing against the Raiders, as he is 3-0 in his career against the AFC West team.

November 19: at Buffalo Bills

TV: CBS (4:25 PM ET)

Rodgers and the Jets travel to Buffalo to face the Bills in a mouth-watering Week 11 clash.

They have lost their last three road games against the Bills dating back to 2020.

November 24: Miami Dolphins 

TV: PRIME VIDEO (3:00 PM ET)

The Jets host the Dolphins in a marquee AFC East clash on Black Friday.

New York crushed Miami 40-17 in their last meeting at MetLife Stadium on October 9, 2022, per ESPN.

December 3: Atlanta Falcons

TV: FOX (1:00 PM ET)

Rodgers will be looking forward to the Jets’ Week 13 clash against the Falcons.

He has a passer rating of 115.6 with 2,492 yards, 21 touchdowns, and just two picks in eight games played against Atlanta in his career.

December 10: Houston Texans

TV: CBS (1:00 PM ET)

The Jets host the Texans in Week 14. Rodgers has a 3-1 record against Houston in his career, with his last victory coming in 2020.

He threw four touchdowns in that contest.

December 17: at Miami Dolphins 

TV: CBS (1:00 PM ET)

A key divisional matchup awaits the Jets in Week 15, with the Dolphins playing host to the AFC East clash.  

The Jets have not fared well in Miami, losing their last seven road games against the Dolphins.

December 24: Washington Commanders

TV: CBS (1:00 PM ET) 

Washington has given Rodgers problems in his storied career. He has a 3-4 record against the NFC East team, with his last defeat coming in October last year.

December 28: at Cleveland Browns (TNF)

TV: PRIME VIDEO (8:15 PM ET)

The Jets’ fifth and final primetime game of the season will come in Week 17 when they travel to Cleveland to face the Browns on Thursday Night Football.

Rodgers loves playing against the Browns, throwing three touchdowns in each of his three meetings against Cleveland when he was a Packer.

January 6/7: at New England Patriots 

TV: TBD

The Jets end their 2023 regular season with a trip to New England. They lost 10-3 to the Patriots in their last meeting at Foxborough on November 20, 2022.

Chiefs reign supreme

Sports Brief recently reported on the Chiefs winning Super Bowl LVII.

Patrick Mahomes starred in the 38-35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

He completed 21 of 27 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns.
