Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics booked their place in the Eastern Conference semifinals in style on Sunday.

Tatum scored an NBA record 51 points as they destroyed the Philadelphia 76ers 112-88 in Game 7 in the second. The superstar forward is looking forward to a rematch with the Miami Heat but understands the threat they pose.

After a wild Game 6 performance on the road against the Sixers, Tatum bounced back in style. He broke the record set two weeks ago by Stephen Curry, who scored 50 points in Game 7 of the Golden State Warriors first-round series against the Sacramento Kings.

The 25-year-old shot 17-of-28 from the field to go along with 13 rebounds and five assists, per Sporting News.

Tatum wary of Miami'a threat

Their win sets up a rematch of last season's Eastern Conference finals with the Miami Heat, who beat the New York Knicks in six games in six games in the second round.

The two teams produced an epic series last season, going back and forth before the Celtics' Game 7 win to proceed to the NBA Finals.

"A team that we're extremely familiar with," Tatum said. "A very well-coached team, they compete with the best of them, play hard. They defend, they make plays and they figure out a way to win games. It's going to be fun; it's going to be highly competitive and I'm looking forward to it," via ESPN.

The Heat have shown they are no pushovers. They stunned the NBA world by eliminating the No. 1 seed Milwaukee Bucks in the first round thanks to heroic performances from Jimmy Butler.

Therefore, they will be a problem for the Celtics, who want to repeat last season's result, a 4-3 series win. Can they do it again?

Reactions to Tatum's playoff performance

Sports Brief earlier reported on NBA Twitter reacting to Tatum's epic 51-point display in Game 7.

Several NBA players and personalities lauded the 25-year-old on his display for the Celtics.

Other fans called it the greatest Mother’s Day of all time after Boston won Game 7 on Sunday.
