Jeremy Lin signed a partially guaranteed contract with the Golden State Warriors, but his rookie season could have been more active on the court. In September 2011, Lin decided to move to club Dongguan Leopards of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), where he was named the MVP of the ABA Club Championship tournament.

Later, in December 2011, Lin joined a Knicks team that desperately needed a new guard. Although the star admitted that he was perceived as the "12th to 15th guy on the roster," he quickly rose to prominence with one of the most remarkable stretches in NBA history, making him the talk of the Sports world.

In less than two years, Lin went from sleeping on couches and going undrafted to being named one of Time's most important people in the world. He became well-known for his outstanding accomplishments with the New York Knicks, which helped him turn the team around in the 2011–12 season and coin the term "Linsanity."

Jeremy Lin is frequently spoken of for his "Linsanity" with the New York Knicks during the 2011-12 NBA season. With his clutch shot-making, he established himself as an icon. In 35 games, he averaged 14.6 points, 6.2 assists, and 1.6 steals.

He graced the Sports Illustrated and Time pages and was listed in the Time 100 as one of the most influential persons in the world. Lin earned the ESPY Award for Breakthrough Athlete of the Year in July 2012.

The Knicks urged Lin to explore other opportunities during the 2012 offseason, but Lin believed that the organisation would re-sign him given its need for a young guard, his strong play, and his widespread recognition. Instead, he managed to find his way to the Houston Rockets, where he remained until 2014.

On July 13, 2014, Lin was sold, along with a first-round draft pick and a second-round draft pick, to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he played alongside Kobe Bryant. Linsanity, of course, did not last forever, and by the time he signed with the Lakers prior to the 2014–15 season, he had already established himself as an average NBA floor leader — not terrible by any means, but also not the next John Stockton, Gary Payton, or Chris Paul either.
