Fans Roast John Collins for Comparing His Hawks Teammate Trae Young to Steph Curry

Fans were not having John Collins' claim that his Atlanta Hawks teammate, Trae Young is a better playmaker and better isolation scorer than Golden State Warriors superstar, Stephen Curry.

Young has often been compared to Curry since he got into the NBA and has produced several incredible performances.

Curry is regarded as one of the best point guards of all time after winning his fourth NBA title in eight years last season.

Many fans have mentioned Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas as the only point guards ahead of the Warriors star on their all-time lists.

Collins compares Young to Curry

Speaking to Brandon 'Scoop B' Robinson of Bally Sports, Collins claimed there are things his teammate can do better than the veteran Warriors point guard.

“Now, Trae has definitely pushed himself into his own category. I can definitely say for sure that he’s a way better playmaker than Steph and he’s a better isolation scorer, right? But obviously, there’s different things that he does better and Steph does better. I just feel like, at this point in the league, they do have similarities in the oohs and the ahhs when they hit a crazy 3, cross somebody up. I can say that they are similar (that way),” he said, via SI.

The forward may have a point. Curry has averaged six assists in his NBA career, while Young has averaged nine. However, playmaking has different definitions for different people.

In 73 NBA games this season, Young has averaged 10.2 assists, the second-best in the league while Curry has posted 6.3 assists in 56 games.

Curry is surely a revolutionary player in basketball and has built a loyal fanbase for the last eight years.

Thompson's warning to the NBA

Sports Brief also reported on Thompson sending a warning to the rest of the NBA teams about the threat the Warriors pose in the playoffs.

The Golden State has proven many times they are a formidable opponent and produced an incredible run to win a fourth NBA title.

Thompson does not believe a team can beat the Warriors in a seven-game series when the team's core of players are all fit and healthy.
