According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Wiggins is set to return this week after missing the last 22 straight games due to a family matter. Wojnarowski reports that the 28-year-old could be back in the Bay Area in 24 hours.

Wiggins signed a four-year extension last summer after playing a crucial role for the Warriors in their championship run. He also got his first All-Star selection, per NBC Sports.

Fans reactions to Wiggins's imminent return

His return comes at a time when the Warriors are fighting for a playoff spot. They recently lost to a Denver Nuggets team without Nikola Jokic. There were interesting reactions from fans.

@Roskeee:

"Hope it’s not too late, great news for the squad!"

@DRichFitness:

"Hope he comes back and isn’t super distracted."

@BeyondTheData:

"This makes Golden State an instant title contender again!"

@ddpage369:

"Golden State Warriors still going home early. Wiggins will be able to focus on off the court matters while the NBA Playoffs are going on."

@PlayoffKlay106:

"Going to need to see it to believe it. Also, if he is coming back now, did he even need to miss that much time in the first place?"

Curry on Wiggins

Sports Brief earlier reported on Warriors star Stephen Curry sending a touching message to Wiggins while he was away from the team.

"Friend to friend, teammate to teammate, just sending him support. It's a tough situation in terms of him being away for so long, but necessary."

Wiggins was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He's played in nine NBA seasons and contributed to the Warriors' 2022 NBA championship.

The defending NBA champions acquired Wiggins during the 2019-20 season in a trade that sent D'Angelo Russell to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
