As it stands, these three teams are:
1. Detroit Pistons (15-50)
The Pistons have made it clear this season that they are firmly in the running for the once-in-a-lifetime draft prospect. They have the worst record in the NBA this campaign with an abysmal 15-50 slate.
Detroit has not beaten a team outside of the bottom four in the team standings since January 26 and are currently in the midst of an eight-game losing streak, per CBS Sports.
2. Houston Rockets (15-49)
The Rockets didn’t help their cause in the tanking race when they defeated the Spurs in back-to-back games this week. They are now a half-game behind San Antonio in the Western Conference standings with 18 games remaining in their schedule.
Houston fans shouldn’t be worried though, as the fourth-worst team in the NBA (the Charlotte Hornets) remains four games ahead of the Rockets in the standings.

NBAIt is more than likely the Rockets will have a 14% chance to make the NBA Draft’s first pick.
3. San Antonio Spurs (16-49)
The Spurs made it clear before the start of the season that this year is the start of the team’s rebuilding process. They parted ways with Dejounte Murray during the offseason, signaling to their fans that they are embracing the tank this season.
There was a problem, though. The team didn’t get the memo and started the season strongly, winning five of their first seven games. That was the highlight of the Spurs’ campaign as they embarked on several lengthy losing streaks this season.
San Antonio were on a 16-game losing streak before Tuesday’s win over the Utah Jazz. They lost their last two games against the Rockets, giving them a shot at finishing last in the Western Conference.
